What we found
State the conclusion first. Identify the exact claim, the decisive evidence, the material limitation, and the finding classification. A reader should understand the report’s central result without reading further.
What the company said
Describe where the claim appeared, who the intended audience was, and the practical impression created. Distinguish the literal sentence from the implication conveyed by surrounding words, graphics, comparisons, and omissions.
What the evidence establishes
Describe the evidence in descending order of authority. Identify study design, population, reference method, endpoints, sample size, duration, exclusions, funding, and material limitations. State clearly what the evidence does and does not establish.
